Allen S. Izard accounts and clippings, 1861-1864.

Accounts (1862) are for rice, straw, butter, and other goods and livestock, some produced at Recess Plantation. Also included are notes (1863) regarding Confederate laws of exemption; and an application for exemption (1864) for the overseer of a Beaufort District plantation. Clippings concern Civil War battles, tax laws and regulations, income tax of Georgia, claims for slaves lost in Confederate service, impressment laws, and other matters.
